Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith problems

This is a discussion about Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith problems in the Windows Games category; I can't get either of them to run. The Lucas Arts console starts up, but when you click the Run button, it says I need to install DirectX 5. 0. It gives me two options: install and cancel. Install gives me a can't find the CD error, and cancel just exits back to the Lucas Arts menu.

I cant quite remember but i think that when you try to run/install it via the frontend launcher it wont work. I think if you look for the exe files and just run them directly then it works. It does work though as ive had it running here on win2k.

Install the Windows 2000 Compatibility Update at http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/tools/appcompat/default.asp
Then make sure you enable application compatilbity mode, check out http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q279/7/92.asp
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 is automatically fixed.
For Jedi Knight: Myteries of the Sith just enable Windows 95 or 98 compatbility mode on the game's shortcut on desktop or start menu.
