Joystick Problems

This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen but while playing Madden 2002 my joystick just won't work. It will be perfectly fine, I chose a play and then it quits working. It gets power, Windows recongizes it still and it works in the test area in the Sidewinder properties.

This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen but while playing Madden 2002 my joystick just won't work. It will be perfectly fine, I chose a play and then it quits working. It gets power, Windows recongizes it still and it works in the test area in the Sidewinder properties. It is connected via the MIDI port on my SB Live Value and it has worked flawlessly before on the same card and same OS just different hardware setup.

Specs:
AMD 1.4 Ghz Tbird @1.75V (mobo produces 1.83 at the "detected" voltage)
Abit KT7A-RAID
Asus V7700 32MB GeForce 2 GTS
SoundBlaster Live! Value
Netgear FA310TX
512MB PC133 Memory
NEC DVD-ROM
Iomega CD-RW
Western Digital 45GB and Maxtor 15GB on HPT370 controller
System temp: 29-32 C
Processor Temp: Under 50 C
500W CompUSA PSU (Not AMD Approved but produces enough 3.3V and 5V)

I don't use the joystick in any other games so I can't tell you if it is Madden specific or not. This thing worked flawlessly (as I said) on my old setup. VIA chipset problems maybe?

I'm not sure where I saw this problem before, and it's recently too. It might be here, but I'm not sure. I visit a few forums, so I have trouble always remembering what's going on where.

Just letting you know you're not ignored. Now, where's someone with an answer?

OP
I've eliminated too much of a load on the SB Live as a cause because I turned sound off and it still did the same thing. I'm going to try incresing my 3.3V level up a little and see if that does anything.

*EDIT*
Considering the SB Live only uses 5V and 12V there is no point to raising 3.3V levels, oh well.
