Kenwood 72x in win2k

This is a discussion about Kenwood 72x in win2k in the Windows Hardware category; I have a kenwood 72x cd-rom that was fully functional in win me. I recently switched to win2k and now I can't read cd mode 2 discs. Everything else works fine. So I talked to some ppl, and apparently, the 72x isn't fully supported in win2k.

Anyone have some of the same experience, and a way to work around it? Maybe using another cd driver...

Kenwood is a sh*t company. Now you understand that.

The Internet is unfortunately littered with people having problems with the Kenwood 72x drives.
The issue surrounds the way it works, mult-laser pick-up can cause some really serious issues.
Check to see if their is a Firmware upgrade for your drive.
Windows 2000, like WinNT before, is very picky on Firmware versions.
