2.6.0-test1 is out if anyone is interested. I got it through Portage on Gentoo but it should be on kernel.org as well.

how long does it normally take to get a stable release after a beta's gone out? they've put proper support for the 82801ER SATA controller in it, so i'll happily wait for a little while!

(apologies if this question is comparable to 'how long's a piece of string?')

thanks

OP
the test series i.e. 2.4.0test lasted 6 months before going official.
Linus has said that this time around the cycle will be shorter with the 2.6.0test series.
