The second issue is a bigger problem:
The game crashs if I try to load a savegame.
I even tried to load these "replacement savegames" from the Sierra homepage, but they didn't work either.
I have tried both Win95 and Win98 compatibility modes but neither of them worked.
I don't know what else to try.

I also had a problem like that a while ago and also with a certain part of the game where you use the golden feather on the scale of justice, the game would go into a loop in that room and I could not get out. I used the games update function to find the update it needed from Sierra. Try that and let us know if it works.

My problem is not looping rooms but the game crashing when i try to load a saved game.
I installed the latest patch (1.03 or 1.3). That was about the first thing i tried
