currently trying to find a store here that has an laptopHD 2 IDE converter - seen them on the web, but need one like now

anyone know of a dos utility that will let me copy from one ntfs partion to another?

yeppers! got one or 2 util that shoul do the trick
i did make 2 seprate paritions, but both are ntfs but i should now have a solution - i just need to get the outlook.pst file off of C and onto D really - i already have the My Doc folder on D drive as i alwayss et windows up like that

I'd use ghost or something like that. boot off a floppy and ghost your drive to a shared directory on another computer.

Of course it does require that the machine is connected to a LAN but I'm not sure if the OS has to be at the desktop or not to see the drive, I'm thinking it does so the only other solution is to pull the drive and connect it in another machine while trying to recover the data

sorry for not putting the link - it had been about 8 hours i had bee working onm the laptop was so tired!
then @ 7am this morning the accountant is knocking on my door - i told her - hour and a half before anything. - 30 mins later - bacj knocking on my door again!

well, it is no 5pm and the laptp runs slow as heck! figure the HD is dying - thing is exactn same symptions on the CEO laptops figured virs but no viruses found and ever after a fresh format, laptop still runs slow!

well, it is no 5pm and the laptp runs slow as heck! figure the HD is dying - thing is exactn same symptions on the CEO laptops figured virs but no viruses found and ever after a fresh format, laptop still runs slow!

Perhaps it's time to get a brand new one, larger and faster now a days and just beat the bejesus outta the old one, have a sledge-O-matic handy for the CEO too

well, the CEO was smart and just went and bought a new one - problem is he bought a toshiba Satellite - not the PRo's.
we have ahd 3 Satellites and ALL have ahd problems, we have a PRO and it has been through heck and back and works great!
Toshiba wont replace anything as long as it works - how can i fry a harddrive?
