guys how fast is SCSI supposed to be?
I have 2 SCSi HDD's (9.1 GB each) hooked up to my AIC-7895 Dual ULTRA SCSI onboard.
In nero when i tell it to test my drive speeds this is what i get:
IDE HDD (Partitioned)
C:\ 12,172 Kb/s
F:\ 14,912kb/s
IBM ULTRA SCSI master (partitioned)
E:\ 11,648 KB/s (BOOT HDD)
H:\ 8,842 KB/s
IBM ULTRA SCSI Slave
D:\ 3,443 Kb/s
G:\5,900 KB/s
I think SCSI should be faster than IDE?
i was not dong anything while this test was taking place:
DK440LX
Dual PII~300Mhz
512Mb RAM
Windows XP
Yes yes, i Am getting a new PC soon and moving up to modern technology...

if i look at my sys event viewer i see a warning at boot
driver turned off write behind caching for this drive
i dont think it messes with raw transfer speeds just slows down overall performance
