This is a discussion about Login on NT domain from a XP home edition in the Windows Networking category; Hello everybody. I'm at work right now and I cant find how to login on a NT 4 SP6a domain from a XP home edition. On 9x/ME, I set the domain double-clicking on 'windows network client' and choose 'logon on NT domain' (I use brazilian portuguese Windows, but you'll got the picture).

Windows XP Professional is best for people who connect to large networks, such as a school or office network, since it allows you to join and be managed by a Windows domain. More about joining networks.
AFAIK, there is no way to log on to a domain from Home Edition, there may be a hack out there somewhere to do it though.

Indeed, that was one of the major limitations of the home edition.

I think the first release of the XP Powertoys had a "switch" to enable domain membership, and MS quickly pulled it when they found out (oops). So, while I am sure there's a way to hack it, I am also sure that you would be in some sort of license violation by doing so.
Similar to the NTSWITCH, I'm sure... At any rate, if you need the Pro features, you need a pro license.
I agree with clutch. the tweak ui has the autologon option and from there you can logon to domain. remember to add your computer to nt server.(administration tools-server manager-add)
no offence, but why would you be running HomeEdition in the first place anyway, if you had a domain?
Probably a laptop or home machine being worked on.
