Long pause
This is a discussion about Long pause in the Customization Tweaking category; between the network settings popup and the login box. It is about a minute and a half. I followed some of the suggestions in the tweaking faq on this site and it went from being a quick boot sequence to this minute and a half delay.

I followed some of the suggestions in the tweaking faq on this site and it went from being a quick boot sequence to this minute and a half delay. I have tried a few things to try and put it back the way it was but still a delay. Any thoughts?

if its not thats the problem
OP
The nic is attached to my cable/dsl router and has been assigned it's own IP and other relevant TCP/IP settings (which I double checked).
Here are the rest of my system specs just in case they raise any red flags:
1 Ghz athlon
Abit KT7A
256MB pc133 SDRAM
80 GB Maxtor HD
2x 13 GB HD (IBM and Maxtor) in a RAID-0 setup on a Promise FastTrak controller
Hercules Game Theater XP running 2.02 Win2k drivers
Elsa 920 Geforce 3 running the 12.40 reference drivers
3Com 905 10/100 Network card
SMC Barricade Cable/DSL router
@home cable service setup for 5 machines via the router.
Thanks for the feedback. This problem is driving me nuts.

Figured it out. Pretty simple. I had turned off the event log service as per the instructions in the tweak guide on ntcompatible.com and when I turned it back on, bingo, it loads in seconds now.
