Looking to upgrade soon - Need some advice!

This is a discussion about Looking to upgrade soon - Need some advice! in the Windows Hardware category; Hi all, Its been a while since I've posted, but I've been looking around quite regularly. Anyway, I'm looking to ditch my Intel PIII 450 and 440BX board in favour for an AMD Athlon 800 and board. I'm aware of the PSU and memory problems some people have had, but I'm confident mine are ok.

Hi all,

Its been a while since I've posted, but I've been looking around quite regularly.

Anyway, I'm looking to ditch my Intel PIII 450 and 440BX board in favour for an AMD Athlon 800 and board.

So, processor has been chosen, but now which Motherboard?

My current config is as follows:

PIII 450 (Not o/c)
192 Mb RAM (PC 100)
QDI 440BX M/Board
3com 10/100 PCI NIC
SB Live
Geforce2 GTS (5.32 detonators)
Promise Ultra66 IDE Controller
Adaptec 2940CD SCSI card (For my scanner)

I'm currently looking at the Asustek K7V, any thought or suggestions will be welcome, as it won't be for a couple of weeks. Have people had problems with Win2k running that config?

Thanks for your help!

Hi.
´My system is a Athlon 700 with a Asus K7V.
I had some problems to get Win2k to work properly, but together with VIA latest drivers everything works just fine.
My advice......BUY IT!!
