Magic the Gathering: Battlemage on XP

Ok, so I'm running Windows XP and I tried installing Battlemage but it gave me an error message saying This product does not support NT. Setup will not continue. (It's a Win 95 game). I tried compatibility mode, but that tab didn't even show up.

I tried compatibility mode, but that tab didn't even show up.
So I copied the CD to my harddisk and tried running the setup2.exe from there. At first, nothing happened, so I went into the taskmanager and killed it. Or so I thought. Because after about 10 minutes, the installation suddenly starts. So I install the game and reboot, as it asks me to. Ok, first thing I notice after the reboot: the system is all of a sudden pretty slow and takes ages to show a first reaction.
I then go start the game. It runs much too fast, and a few seconds after starting a battle, it crashes and the PC reboots.
System is still slow, too =/

Can anyone help?
