Master of Orion 2 on Windows XP

This is a discussion about Master of Orion 2 on Windows XP in the Windows Games category; I'm trying to play Master of Orion 2 on Windows XP but after playing for a while most of the graphics go black. Even if I save and restart the game it still goes black. I've read other posts about this problem on other OS's but I've never seen a solution.

I have noticed many-a-problem with people playing DOS games in windows XP, especially MOO. At the time i am writting this, i am just about to start a new thread - guide to running DOS on Windows XP.

Check it out when it's finished (it'll be in the Windows XP / Games section, although it also applies to Windows 2000).

OP
I have now tested this solution for a while and it only delays the inevitable.
You can play for longer but the graphics eventually go black again.
If you save and reload the game it still gets the same graphics error a few turns later.
As for the person who submitted that method. Yes, I am using XP Pro.
