This is a discussion about mech warrior 2 in the Windows Games category; i found my old mech warrior 2 disc for windows 95. i want to play it on my xp but when i click on start game a window opens up and then closes. nothing else happnes after this. WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS??????????????????.

You cannot play the Windows ver of Mechwarrior 2 using just Windows XP.
The only way to play the Windows ver of Mechwarrior 2 in Windows XP is to use an emulator like Vmware or Microsoft Virtual PC to emulate/Virtualize Windows 9x, and then play Mechwarrior 2 for Windows in that.
or you can dual-boot your machine and play the game in Windows 98.
IIRC, someone was able to get a 3dfx version of Mechwarrior 2 to work in Windows XP using a glide emulator but I can't really confirm that.
