Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance do not install on my WinXP professional

This is a discussion about Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance do not install on my WinXP professional in the Windows Games category; When I try to install Mech4 from CD (running setup. exe in CD 1) , it gives me a error message: unable to locate exported function RegisterServiceProcess in kernel32. dll and then install aborts. After that i installed all microsoft updates avaliable.
