MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- July 26, 2001 -- Microsoft Corp. today announced that its next installation of the Silicon Valley Speaker Series, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2, will focus on the business benefits of building XML Web services on the Microsoft .NET Platform. Barry Goffe, group product manager of the .NET Enterprise Solutions Group at Microsoft, will discuss how the .NET Platform can help businesses build and deploy XML Web services and will detail some of the business opportunities that XML Web services present to enterprises. The presentation also will highlight customers that have built XML Web services using .NET Enterprise Server technology and the successes they have had with it. In addition, Goffe will examine how the next generations of .NET Enterprise Servers will continue to evolve and more deeply integrate with the .NET Platform, thanks to significant financial investment from Microsoft in its server family.
