Midtown Madness 2 - - Works fine until I actually start play

hey guyz, has anyone got midtown madness 2 to run properly in windows 2000? it runs properly in mine, but when i start playing, it freezes and the framerate drops like to 0! I do not know why this has happened, I also downloaded and installed the new patch.

hey guyz, has anyone got midtown madness 2 to run properly in windows 2000? it runs properly in mine, but when i start playing, it freezes and the framerate drops like to 0!
 
I do not know why this has happened, I also downloaded and installed the new patch.
 
It runs perfectly until I actually start playing...I see all the graphic detail but when i try to move the car/vehicle, it moves like a minute later...it just runs too slow...especially on my 933MHz with 64mb GEFORCE DDR...with 256RAM...
please help

Its a dell version of the Geforce cuz i got the Dell computer package.
 
I tried denonator drivers and it made it worse...does this mean i got to wait until dell releases its next drivers? or should i try the latest drivers of the geforce...help me

I installed the drivers
rebooted
executed midtown madness 2
and still the same effect

Verify that the drivers installed properly. Mabye your still using older drivers and it didn't update....

uhh of course...its all verified...i wish i could provide a screenshot, but my web server is down so i cant upload the screenshot...just to prove you...
 
anywayz it DID update...and still aint working...maybe i should try a more later driver version? hmm which one?

I just tried it in SOFTWARE MODE...it runs exactly the same...but with less graphic quality...hmm...maybe its win2k problem?

1. Which res?
2. Are you sure your processor is 933?
3. Are you running dx8 and SP1 + all Windows update updates?
4. Have you reinstalled MM2 since upgrading to 2k?

1. I tried all res in game...my desktop res is 1024x768
2. 933MHz im positive...i brought this computer as a DELL package...DELL Dimension 4100 is 933Mhz (not overclocked)
3. Im running direct x 8 and SP1 network is installed...also all gaming compatability updates are installed along with critical package updates.
4. I did a clean install of win2k, not upgrade. I just recently installed MM2...after it didnt work, i immediately posted here

bump your drivers to 6.47 at http://zoiah.m3dzone.com/
 
I finally got a problem with those 7.17 drivers when MM2 was causing the weirdest looking graphics. so I put 6.47 on and it worked fine. Maybe try those. Set your Graphics Apenture size to 64 MB in the BIOS settings.
