After a crash of VB 6.0 while running the INET control, my Windows 2000 has developed a very bad habit. Whenever I connect to the Internet, the dial-up networking icon does not appear in the system tray. I have to manually refresh the Networking and Dial-up Connections window with an F5 key, and the icon appears in the sys tray. Conversely, when I hang-up the connection, the icon stays until I manually refresh the N&DU Connections window. Is this a registry setting issue or an Windows Explorer problem?

This problem makes it impossible to know if the connection has dropped while online.

Thanks for answering -- it has been driving me nuts.
