Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so, what did you do about it? I don't really want to send the mobo back 'cos I need it for work. I'm thinking about get a replacement from a local electronics store. Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance.

If the fan is getting louder and louder, its probably going bad.
Thermaltake has a Blue Orb chipset/video chip cooler that ~$20.
Just grab some thermal paste before you strap on the new cooler.
Id definitly go that route as you wont have to send out the mobo and you can fix it yourself.
