turn down your refesh rate and/or resolution
Monitors can only support certian refresh rates at certain resolutions. A monitor may be able to support 85Hz at 800x600, but chances are it wont at 1600x1200, or even my last monitor, only supported 60 Hz at 1280x1024.

thanx for the info i will try what you said and see what happens
Unzip the drivers that you download.
Go to Device Manager
Right click Video Card/Adapter, choose properties.
Choose Update/reinstall driver
choose to specify a driver
point to the .inf file where you unzipped the drivers
yada yada yada.....blah blah blah........
Restart.

Sometimes if you are using an optical mouse or any special mouse. Win ME will not let that device take the system out of sleep mode. Try pressing and holding down some keys on the keyboard. Sometimes that will work.
Then go to your mouse properties, and check where it says something like "all this device to take my computer out of standby mode"
