monitor network?

This is a discussion about monitor network? in the Everything New Technology category; i am running a home network and i would like to monitor everthing that is happening! like who is loggin on to which machine, when they are logging on and if they are successful. Also things like who is trying to log on remotely! can anyone suggest any software that would do this? Thanks.
