Mine has gone into power saving ONCE. I forget to turn my monitor off sometimes and the thing is on for days. It would take MS to break something that was working fine.

OP
But it still happens. I tested a bit more.

My normal setting are:
turn off monitor: after 3 minutes
turn off hard disks: after 10 minutes
The monitor goes standby after 3 minutes, and wakes up after ther disks turn off.

Then I tried
turn off monitor: after 10 minutes
turn off hard disks: after 10 minutes
After 10 minutes monitor just blinks, and stay on

turn off monitor: after 10 minutes
turn off hard disks: after 5 minutes
monitor doesn't enter sleep mode at all.

It sucks.
I had the same problem in win2000. The monitor sometimes didn't go to sleep at all. Perhaps I'll try a new motherboad.
