Mortal Kombat Trilogy on any OS

This is a discussion about Mortal Kombat Trilogy on any OS in the Windows Games category; I need help in running the game 'Mortal Kombat Trilogy Windows version' I can't get it to run either in win xp sp1 or win 98se It asks for some svga chip which I don't think is present on my system Specs: PIV Intel 1.

I need help in running the game 'Mortal Kombat Trilogy Windows version'

PIV Intel 1.8 Mhz
512 MB DDR Ram
ATI Radeon 7500 128Mb video ram
Win XP SP1
or
Win 98SE

There is a fix for this game to run under Windows XP, search this forum and you will come with a link. However, there won't be any sound when using the patch.
 
As for under Win98, it should work, but you need an older video card. That game uses VESA graphics, and VESA died really quickly once DirectX came along. Its too bad no one will port that game under DirectX. You might have a little luck using the Generic ATI driver when configuring the game. Use manual override instead of auto detect.

ive been searching for a fix for this program myself and have not found anything to work
even the app compat toolkit
when i use it i get this error message
 
windirect error: unable to link to kernel32.dll
mgl fatal error: cannot load wdirXXf.dll
 
without it this message appears at the character select screen
an privileged instruction.... address 004d5f0c
