Motherboard Asus P4S8X

This is a discussion about Motherboard Asus P4S8X in the Windows Hardware category; Have been on asus website to see what processor upgarde i can go to but to no luck can some help me please currently running p4 2. 8ghz. If so can i go upto the p4 3. 2ghz and is it worth the money, will i see the differance cheers.

As far as I know the fatest cpu on 533fsb is the 3,06 P4. If your mobo doens't support 800MHz fsb you can not run a 3,2GHz P4. Your only option would be 3,06GHz, but I don't think it would make any difference. If you want to upgrade wait for the prescot cpu and get a new mobo, but for now I think 2,8GHz should be ok. What do you need a faster cpu for?

not worth the upgrade.
 
what do you use your system for?
 
there is likely a LARGE chance you will not notice the diff.
 
 
NOW if u got with an 800mhz FSB chip, that may be another story - but with that mobo - heck, just geta 2.4 - a $50 good cooling fan and overclock it to 3.2 easy
