This is a discussion about Motorhead & W2k in the Windows Games category; Hi guys, this' s my first post here. I' ve a problem with Motorhead bundled with the Logitech Formula Force (wheel). In first, the game won' t install on W2k because it find an NT system. . . . ok. .

I' ve a problem with Motorhead bundled with the Logitech Formula Force (wheel).
In first, the game won' t install on W2k because it find an NT system....ok....I' ve installed it from W98 and copied all the registry keys in to W2k with modified paths.
So, when i try to launch MH from W2k a flashing window appear...and stop....no game...no zombie process in task manager.
This' s my system:
P3 450@550
128Mb ram
Abit bh6
Geforce ddr Creative with 5.13 drivers
Diamond MX300 with latest beta drivers
3Com 10/100 tx
adaptec 2940uw
seagate cheetah 4.5gb 10k rpm
ibm ddrs 4.5gb 7.2k rpm
plextor 40x
yamaha 8x4x24

I used i5comp to extract the files from the installshied setup (contained in data1.cab). And it runs perfectly with no registry settings imported.
I have tried the same with the V3 patch, which works on all versions, but its more complicated due to the 6 or so different versions, I'll need to decompile the installer to see what it does for each version. So i might just remove the winnt detection stuff.
Run dxdiag.exe and make sure everything is working.

I've made 2 patches for the euro retail version, and one for the V3 patch from www.motorhead.org which will work on all versions. Get them at www.euankirkhope.freeserve.co.uk and see if they work. Read the instructions!
