mouse pointer skips to corners!!!!!

so Im desperate. Ive even bought a new laptop(free actually)ive even done ghosts and a full restore and still its skipping across the screen usually to the corners. Ive tried different mice and have tried 2 different laptops.

Im desperate.Ive even bought a new laptop(free actually)ive even done ghosts and a full restore and still its skipping across the screen usually to the corners. Ive tried different mice and have tried 2 different laptops.And get this!when Im playing a game the whole screen will spin at a very fast rate.Unbelievable virus whoever invneted it. I can only think its coming thru my LAn that i share w 3 computers downstairs.Help!!!!

hey thanks but I have a microsoft wireless mouse that doesnt give me that choice on its interface.

hey thanks again.
i did find a prefernces page om my interface and tried changin the values but still skips a bit.One sais rat per second with a choice of 80,100,or 120(100 defualt)then the other is buffer lenght from 100 to 300 at 10 pt.intervals. Oh my confusin.and its in norwegian language.

* If your mouse is wireless optical, make sure the surface where you move your mouse or the mouse pad is clean.
* If you have mouse pad, try use your mouse without it.
Sometimes the color(s) on the pad can affect the performance of the mouse.
 
* Try replacing batteries (if it uses them).
 
* Switch back to good ol' wired and non-optical mouse.

have a look at mouse properties and then mouse options.
 
is there a check mark in hide pointer while typing?
