Mousewheel doesn't work on Win2k
Hi, the wheel of my Logitech-Mouse doesn't work with MaxPayne and Quake3Arena in Windows 2000. I have installed DX8, ServicePack2 and the newest Logitech-driver. On Windows 98SE it works very well and on standard Win-Apps in Win2k it works too.
Hi,

What can I do? Do anyone have the same problem?

I got a logitech mouse (cordless/optical) and my wheel was reacting weird in win2k (but not in winMe): it didn't scroll all the time in windows and didn't scroll at all in quake3arena.
I then went in the mouse options in control panel and put "use ms office compatibility scroll only". Now it works great.
I hope this helps.
Also, download the latest mouseware from www.logitech.com

you may download it from Logitech
gamepatch or fix its called "its a reg fix"
it doesn matter what wersion of mouse drivers u use
but you may also "if you are comfortable with the Windows register u can do the same changes there"
this one i found from Logitechs homepage
- Click the "Start" button on the Windows Desktop and select
"Run...".
- On the Open line, type C:\WINDOWS\REGEDIT.EXE and press [ENTER].
- From the Registry Editor screen, double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
- Double click on SOFTWARE.
- Double click on Logitech.
- Double click on MouseWare.
- Double click on CurrentVersion.
- Single click on Technical and information should be displayed on
the right side of the Registry Editor screen.
- Under the Name column, double click on the "MouseHookDLLEnable"
entry and the Edit String Dialogue box should appear.
- Modify the Value Data line to read "0", and click the "OK" button
- Exit the Registry editor (saving is automatic).
- Restart the system.
Your game software should now be able to properly use your Logitech
Wheel/Roller.
