MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 2

This is a discussion about MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 in the Windows Hardware category; I can't get this joystick to work in XP, it just won't detect when i plug it into any of my USB ports. Has anyone had luck getting this joystick working? Oh yeah XP RC2 is what i'm using right now.

Works perfectly fine for me. I absent-mindedly left it plugged in when I installed XP RC2, but it detected both it and my GamePad pro just fine. I'm reluctant to install the SideWinder profiler software in fear that it will screw it up.

I had to unplug all other usb devices... So my mouse and keyboard are back to PS/2

1. I dont have the joystick plugged in
2. unplug my web cam (or other crap)
3. Plug in sidewinder.. verify it works.
4. plug web cam in again. (or other crap) verify joy still works.
If I reboot or use the web cam (or other crap)I have to do the same thing to get it working again.
