Hi Gang,
I love how MS Word 2003 (Service Pack 2) autocompletes : ) --> . However, the only problem is it's sticking a bar along the left hand side of the paragraph whenever and wherever I place smilies. In addition it's underlining the smiley itself. Can someobody tell me how to turn off this annoying feature that I undoubtedly enabled myself, since this didn't happen when I first installed it. It's related to autocompletion, but I don't know which setting I warped. Thanks for any and all help regarding this matter:

If nothing else you can do a search for the file Normal.dot and delete it. The next time you start Word it will create the normal.dot file again but everything will be set back to defaults.
Normally on XP this file should be at:
driveletter:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
