My computer won't do anything with the EQ disk
This is a discussion about My computer won't do anything with the EQ disk in the Windows Games category; I just recently bought Everquest Plantinum, figuring my month old Toshiba laptop would have no problems running it. Then when I put the CD in and it's supossed to autorun it never did, Okay, that's fine.
I just recently bought Everquest Plantinum, figuring my month old Toshiba laptop would have no problems running it.
Then when I put the CD in and it's supossed to autorun it never did, Okay, that's fine...but then when I tried to manually run it told me that the files on the CD were not valid Win32 applications or files.
Thinking it might have been the cd I decided to return it and get a new copy that does the same thing.
I also e-mail Everquest tech support and they claimed that the game was deisgned for a desktop computer and might not work with the graphic or sound card. the compatible list was not avalible for me to check, but that shouldn't make a difference in installing the program anyway.
We have tried a few things to attempt to fix this problem as well as update the CD-ROM Drivers but nothing seems to help
I was wondering if anyone else may have had this problem and or possibly knows how to solve it.
Thanks

Just a thought but does that game need a DVD-ROM drive as opposed to a CD-ROM drive?
OOPS! Forget that

This might help:

Failing that I have seen it on occasions where older cdrom drives refuse to read newer CDs. Must be the way they are burnt.
Do other CDs work?

OP
Yeah other CDs work fine.
Infact Doom 3 works fine on my computer.
But like I said my computer is pretty new so there should be no problems running the game.
I'm looking at the link though thanks
