My dearest laptop,dead?

This is a discussion about My dearest laptop,dead? in the Windows Hardware category; My laptop fell. It wasnt a hard fall but now the screen is just lightin up and nothin is showin? Am losing it,i put all my money in buyn it. Can it be fixed at all?.

Most likely it can be fixed. The question is how much do you want to spend to get it fixed. It probably is one of three issues;
 
1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard
 
If you are lucky, it is problem #1. In the fall, the cable became dislodged.
 
If the fall caused either # 2 or 3, then either component would have to be replaced.
 
Do you have an external monitor than you can hook up to the laptop to see if you get a picture?
 
Is it under warranty? In other words, did you buy it new and the warranty is still good?
