My fix for D3D woes in XP

I just recently installed Windows XP and was having a problem with my system crashing every time that I tried to run a Direct 3D game. I tried installing practically every version of the detonator drivers out there and still my system crashed every time I tried to play anything in direct 3D.

I just recently installed Windows XP and was having a problem with my system crashing every time that I tried to run a Direct 3D game. I tried installing practically every version of the detonator drivers out there and still my system crashed every time I tried to play anything in direct 3D. So in desperation I tried disabled AGP 4x in my bios and now as if by magic everything runs just fine. Has anyone else experienced a similar phenominon with XP or had problems with D3D games crashing? Also if you know a way to get around this problem without disabling AGP 4X please let me know.

My system specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon @ 700mhz
BioStar M7MKE Mainboard with VIA KX133 chipset
Geforce DDR

Thanks!
