My list of NTCompatible games
This is an excel spreadsheet of all of the games that I own. Each game has been tested by me so you can be sure that the results are accurate Currently the list does not include any results for any 3rd party programs.

Currently the list does not include any results for any 3rd party programs.
The list has only been tested with the latest updates applied to the
operating system and the latest patch for the game.
For instance, if you see a DOS game with a status of "green" then this
simply means that the game works but it will of course not have any
sound in NT without using a 3rd party prog such as VDMSound.
I have kept 3rd party programs off of the main list and created a
seperate worksheet for them for a simple reason. This unclutters the
results and provides a very readable format without confusion. Also due
to the constant changes to 3rd party progs and the fact that it is in
most cases desirable to just get the games working without downloading
anything.
Currently my list has it's home here:

I finally sold my Slave Zero game because it was incompatible with Windows 2000 even using the usual tricks. The other couple dozen or so games I have work fine with Windows 2000.
Have you been able to get Need for Speed High Stakes running with 3D Acceleration? I've sucessfully installed it using Appfix (per your helpful post), but it appears only in low res software mode.
FYI- I'm using a CL geForce card.

I got a Doom (shareware), and Doom2(full) to work perfectly in Windows2000 just from a fresh installation. No patching was required. had sound, but no mouselook ability.
yet then again, that hadn't come out yet

For D W Anderson. I have a Asus GeForce ddr and by using the info on the website below, was able to get NFSHS working perfect in Win 2000 Adv. Server. Actually I didn't even need to do the last part of the install which was connecting multiple times to the EA Update server for it to run in 3D.

No sound huh? THANK YOU creative labs for creating such good drivers.
heh instead of using resources for better drivers when they got some competition from Aureal, they sued them. Nice going creative labs heh customers will get such good products in the future heh
sorry for my rant but everytime I must reboot my PC to win9x just to get no crackling for games I think about Creative

Download this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/compatibility/
It makes ALOT more woftware compatibile with Windows 2000 on install. Also it includes tools to help you to get software to work by tricking them (much more advanced than APCOMPAT). Choose each option 1 by one tho.

Yes, the link is on the main page. I haven't done a complete test of each game. My tests currently are get game to install and run game. If it runs it runs. Then I move on to the next. Haven't done alot of testing with VDMSOUND because the current version is only really good with MIDI. I'm waiting for the next ver. No biggie. Most of my DOS games I played with speaker back in the day.
