This is a discussion about My posts suck...this one is useful...for me I guess in the Windows Hardware category; Anyways, when I start my computer up it is suppose to have an external cache of 512k, instead it says External Cache: 512K, Disabled. How do I enable it? I looked all over in the BIOS. Thanks. . . even though i've been an ass.

Anyways, what MB did you have ?
Did you upgrade the bios ?
If you are using the Win2k the bios setups
doesnt count that much, as win2k and Nt reads the hardware directly.

sorry for missing out alot of the info...my motherboard is a GigaByte Athlon 71-XE Motherboard. Yes I upgraded the bios. I use Windows 2k..but I figured that the cache should be enabled for performance reasons
