The Problem stems from windows I think....
I'm running Win2000 prof on my laptop...

I have music match installed which is fine for picking up the details of Cd's that i download to it but the program does not recognise my IPOD...

I also have iTunes installed but where this program recognises my IPOD it doesn't pick up any of the Cd's track names...

I have tried importing the songs from music match to iTunes but this is not working either...

what i would like is one program that works fully... not two programs that half work.....

can anyone help...?

Please...?

Before i launch the poxy thing into the river....

Make sure that the iPod service is running (iPod manager I think) for MusicMatch. For iTunes, make sure that gearsec is running. You can also have clashes between iTunes (gearsec) and various burning apps. I run Nero, and haven't had any issues between that and my iPod when using Windows XP Pro and Windows Server 2003.

I had to download a plugin to use the ipod with musicmatch. Beware though, when I used it musicmatch permanently chopped off the last character in every field of every tag in my library.

Is the problem with iTunes that it won't get the track names for cds off the web? If that is the case, there is a menu option to do this. There is also a setting to do this automatically.

And what is the problem with ripping in musicmatch and importing to iTunes?

OP
Thanks for replying mate...

yes the problem is the track names on Itunes..

am i being totally dumb... i can't see anything on the menu that lets me obtain the track names automatically.... other than 'Get Cd track names' and every time i press this i get an error message 'CDDB information is not available for some of these items'

it's very frustrating...

also... when i tried to send tracks from the musicmatch to the iTunes there was only files there with the cd's name and nothing in them to import/export...

Can you send a link for the patch i need to download for musicmatch to work please... iwould be indebted..

cheers dude...
