Ok guyz at first i was looking to buy a P4 2.4Ghz 533 with an Asus P4B533-E motherboard but i came across a dual Asus Socket A board and i am now thinking of getting a dual Athlon MP 2200+ with an Asus A7M266-D, this means though that i wont have a computer at christmas and will have to wait until january to get this and it will cost an extra £100. I dont know what to do at the moment so im wondering what you guys reckon on this?

The comp will be used for Gaming mainly and i am ordering a MSI GF4 Ti4600 and a sony 21" monitor next week so i am a heavy gamer really!

Any suggestions on what i should do would be good, thanx guyz

Get a new 48x burner and burn a cd in 2-3 mins, - i mean by the time the game even starts - the cd is done burning.

Unless you got a 4x burner - it is almost pointless to play a game as every 5 mins u got to multi task out and do another burn.

When i had alot to burn (some times 20g + a day) i would just chill and watch t.v while burning or chat on Im's and surf da web.

But to each their own.

maybe just build a cheap small pII 500 system for burning cd's?

Its true they wont help, this is becuase the burning app will try and sue as much CPU as it can to make sure no buffer underuns happen...

There's no reason to get the 333MHz RAM unless you plan on overclocking, that board runs DDR 266.

The system is so much more responsive than any AMD system i have , i dont mean speed wise, it just feels nicer to use. Like when you drive a car, some are nicer to drive and make you feel comfortable, etc while others feel weird and you cant pin point the exact problem. Anyway i love the P4's standby, i thought it had turned off altogether but when on standby it turns off all fans, etc "WOOW"

And i thought what the hell and ordered my Sony 21" Trinitron Monitor and a Creative GF4 Ti4600 now :x

Never been any happier with any other computer 8)

The Intel systems are very snappy indeed, and they take less additional drivers to accomplish optimum performance. Basically, it's a lot less hassle to maintain. You'll appreciate this more and more as you install new software.

I thought id go GF4 and im happy with it.

Also they sold out of the 21" Sony Monitors so im waiting to see if they get anymore in and if not im gonna go for a 19" Philips (the worlds smallest CRT monitor with a front to back space requirement 8) )
