I have the same problem, although without any errors. I'm running Windows XP SP2, compatibility doesn't help any. The first time I put in the CD I got the autorun menu, but when I clicked install and it just disappeared and did nothing. The setup.exe and wowexec.exe show up in the processes, which I end task once I know it won't start properly.
I'll keep trying at it, but if someone can help out that'll be sweet.
Add: Figured that out in a hurry. I decided to install Rogue Spear and when that had the very same problem I knew something else was wrong. At first I thought it might've been Netmeeting, which I was running at the time, but when I checked the processes to end task of the setup, it was next to the exe of a game which I closed a couple hours before. Anyway, that hit me as an obvious cause and after ending task of that, everything installs normally and I couldn't be happier.
