Need for speed 3 problem!!

I just got need for speed 3 (Ive windows xp) and everytime i try to install it it says c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC. NT. this system is not suitable to run MS-DOS. . . . . . . Can someone help please!!.
