Need for Speed - High Stakes

This is a discussion about Need for Speed - High Stakes in the Windows Games category; Using other information found on this site I have been able to successfully run NFS HS, however It will only run if I use the ASUS Geforce 2 MX drivers. If I use the Nvidia drivers it simply quits back to the desktop after a few seconds when running NFS HS.

Due to problems with the ASUS drivers I am using the Nvidia ones.
Any idea on why it will run with the ASUS ones and not the Nvidia ones? I did have to modify the registry and change "Group" and "thrash driver" to "d3d" on the ASUS ones, but that modification doesn't have any effect on the Nvidia drivers.

Any ideas?

Gary

What driver version have you tried? I know that versions 10.xx and 11.xx of the reference drivers don't work with NSF HS, but right now I'm using version 12.40 with no problems.
