Need For Speed: PU Keyboard and Mouse Lockups

This is a discussion about Need For Speed: PU Keyboard and Mouse Lockups in the Windows Games category; This game is operating under Windows 98 Second Edition(I know it's not listed on the forum listsbut I'm desparate to resolve this issue; EA gives me worthless garbage for an answer). This game is operating under Windows 98 Second Edition--(I know it's not listed on the forum lists--but I'm desparate to resolve this issue; EA gives me worthless garbage for an answer).

My problem with this game is that each time I play it, the keyboard or/and mouse locks up--at anytime.

Here's my Specs:

AMD Athlon Processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.3GHz
256 MB RAM
Direct X 9.0B
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 64.0 MB
Resolution: 1024 x 768 (in game too)

I've tried to redownload the driver for my graphics card..didn't do anything.

I've also switched keyboards and mouse--nothing changed--problem is still there.

The funny thing is is that I played this game a couple of years ago on the same processor and it worked perfectly. The only thing changed now is a new graphics card (had different couple years ago).

Also, my mouse and keyboard are connected to the same motherboard/mainboard.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
