PLEASE HELP! I have completed 50% of NFSU 2 on PS2 and i am stuck, there are no races on the world map and i have been driving round looking for races but cant find any, what should i do?. Please Please help me if you can.

I'm having that same problem I'm at 60% and it said to return the girls car just like it did at the begining or she said there would be no action on the streets something like that anyway there isn't any action no races on the map or outrun races. Can't find any shop to return whatever car I already returned.
