I recently got a new "used" computer with Windows XP PRO on it. I have a Logitech 3-button mouse. WIN XP didn't recognise it as having 3 buttons. I downloaded and installed Logitech's Mouseware program. I'm now getting a hardware conflict. Under the Control Panel - System, I get a warning under the mouse. It shows I have a PS2 Logitech Mouse, but it says that there's an IRQ conflict "not enough resourses"
between the mouse and something called "I8042prt". I've not been able to find anything on Logitech's website, nor on Microsoft's that addresses this. I can get to the screen to change the mouse's IRQ, but the choice is greyed out, and I can't figure out how to activate it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I8042prt is the driver which controls the keyboard and PS/2 mouse for the Intel 8042 controller. The default IRQ for a mouse is IRQ 11, and this usually does not change; nor do I recommend changing it.

You could try disabling the ps/2 mouse port if your other mouse is USB.
