Every (I mean EVERY time) I try to open netscape it pops up and error message saying that netscape. exe has generated errors and is being closed by windows. It also says that an error log has been created.
Every (I mean EVERY time) I try to open netscape it pops up and error message saying that netscape.exe has generated errors and is being closed by windows. It also says that an error log has been created. This is Netscape 4.76 by the way. I also cant seem to find the error that windows said it made. I look all throughout the event viewer but its not there. Could this be some ploy by Microsoft, I have recently updated my windows, or is my netscape f*cked up? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times. I have run RegClean after I uninstall but nothing I know of seems to work. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
Now it seems as if Opera 5.11 is doing the same thing. Please help!

Netscape wont even start up past the opening box. I have sat there and tried to open it maybe a hundred times now and it gives the same message. Hopefully it will "fix" its self.
I used to use netscape but stopped because of the horrible bugginess and constant crashes. It would also corrupt my user profile on occasion too. I thought IE the devil for a long time but finally got so fed up with Netscape that I switched and haven't looked back. It isn't worth your time to troubleshoot that crappy browser, now might be a good time to start using IE.
Is there any chance there could be a virus???
You stated that there was no error in the event log, although this may be a long shot, but thats what I would turn to...are you getting the same eroor with opera? Or is it an entirely different error? Is that error being logged??? I know this probably isnt what you want to hear but the only thing i can think of is a virus. Granted that you have an anti-virus software package, you could try to clean it.
Also...you said that you just did an update. Did this start happening after the update? And if so have you uninstalled the
update(s) ???
