hi, ive got a real strange problem.

i just got a new pc, so now i have link my old and my new pcs to gether. all is fine, both pc's can ping each other, and the old one can even use the net useing ICS through my new one.

the stange bit is, when i try to access a folder on the old pc from the new one, i can at first see the contents of that folder, then if i do ANYTHING the old PC just instantly resets!?!?!

nothing i can think of that causeing it, no event logs are written, the new pc just logs that connection was lost.

i won't lie, both mechines have windows XP home OEM with sp2 (2600) and they have both been installed from the same CD with the same cd key. one is awaiting activation, but i will purchase a new copy of XP before that runs out.
Is this problem just one of microsofts shithouse ways to make us buy 2000 copys of their software in our life time?
