New laptop cannot load xp??!?!

Just bought a toshiba a215 laptop and I was having my friends dad install xp and he told me you cannot install on this laptop because it is new and only accepts vista? Is this true? Any way around this?? Gah I hate vista.

Depends if Toshiba have developed any drivers for XP for that laptop. So you may be w/o graphics, sound or network facilities unless you want to use 3rd party drivers (if any).
