No sound
This is a discussion about No sound in the Everything New Technology category; Hey, when I play an audio cd, I can only here sound in windows media player, if I use winamp, or musicmatch, nothing but dead silence. The timer goes, and the slider goes like its playing but no sound.

Sounds like you need to connect the 4 pin audio cable from the cdrom/cdrw/dvdrom drive to the sound card/motherboard. WMP7 and newer read the cd audio 'digitally' whereas most other apps still read the cd in 'analog'.
