No Sound after reinstall of XP Pro

I had to do a complete re-installation of XP Pro on my Mom's computer. All went well with the install, except now I have no sound. When I go to Sound and Audio device properties all areas of Volume are greyed out so they cannot be adjusted.

My guess is that you need to install the device drivers for the onboard AC97 sound. You may want to locate the motherboard drivers disk that came with your machine or try to locate the drivers at the various chipset manufacturers site.

One thing that could help is to post the make/model of this motherboard or the make/model of the machine, if it's a Dell/HP/Gateway etc....

OP
The computer is a Dell 2350.
I don't have any other info at the moment (it's my Mom's pc)
I've found a great site to dl the drivers.
Before the install she couldn't get on the internet or check email in OE. I've got the correct settings for her. ISP said to contact her antivirus support for help - they gave up trying, hence the reinstall.
Thanks so much - I appreciate the help!
