Norton Ghost and disk sizes
This is a discussion about Norton Ghost and disk sizes in the Windows Software category; I have a number of Norton Ghost v9 backup images on a 186 GB external hard drive I was using for that purpose. They were from a 120 GB hard disk. I replaced the 120 GB hard drive with a 320 GB hard drive.
I have a number of Norton Ghost v9 backup images on a 186 GB external hard drive I was using for that purpose. They were from a 120 GB hard disk. I replaced the 120 GB hard drive with a 320 GB hard drive. I can't get Ghost 9 to back up an image from the 320 GB drive to the smaller 186 GB drive even though there's only 40 GB of information I want to store.
There's not much information on Ghost I can find at Symantic. Could my problems be coming from the changes in the source drive size?

Are those previous Ghost backups still on the smaller drive?

No, there's 60 gig on the target drive with only 40 gig on the source drive. Thanks and please, I welcome further suggestions.
