NT Backup for Win2K Pro - backup file size limit?

This is a discussion about NT Backup for Win2K Pro - backup file size limit? in the Windows Software category; Is there a file size limit for an NT Backup file? I have a 20 gig 7200RPM drive I want to use for backing up our 7 gig network drive. The problem is I get a message saying that the media is full. It's not even close to full, and it always ends with a file size of 3.

Is there a file size limit for an NT Backup file? I have a 20 gig 7200RPM drive I want to use for backing up our 7 gig network drive. The problem is I get a message saying that the media is full. It's not even close to full, and it always ends with a file size of 3.99 gigs before giving that error message. What am I missing? Why won't it backup the entire network drive? Why just 3.99 gigs?

FAT only support filesizes up to 4GB. Format the the drive with NTFS and it should work ok.

Thanks for the response Toby. I will go format the drive with the NTFS file system and see what happens.
