nvidia gforce 256 incompatible with AMD Atlhon ?
This is a discussion about nvidia gforce 256 incompatible with AMD Atlhon ? in the Windows Hardware category; My Nvidia GForce 256 has some kind of incompatibility with my Amd K7 Athlon 900MHz. Does anyone know why my O. S doesn't recognize my card ? I can only get 16 colors !! Ridiculous , isn't ? I've tryed With Win2K and I got only 16 colors and 640 x 480.

Your talking about the Slot A Athlon, right? I've heard of some issues with the Slot A Athlon with a Via KX133 chipset and the original GeForce 256, but it wasn't related to the desktop resolution.
This is probably a stupid question, but I'm just covering my bases: Do you have drivers installed? If so, which one?

This is regardless of the type of Athlon, and it's just for Win2k.
