Odd surfing problem
Hi, I have a strange problem on one of the clients where I work. When you try to surf, within certain sites, to a secure(https) page it gives you server not found or dns error. He gets his ip by dhcp and all other stations have no problem.

I work.
When you try to surf, within certain sites, to a secure(https)
page it gives you "server not found or dns error".
He gets his ip by dhcp and all other stations have no problem.
Were talking about win98se and IE6
I tried to play with the ip configuration, gave him a static one and changed other info like dns server, it didn't help.
Also reinstalling ie haven't helped.
I enabled all of IE's security options and ssl checkboxes.
I'm cracking my head here...
Help me with this one, please.
Thanks,
fLy.

not sure about this but do you have a firewall??? that might be the problem, some firewalls have a feature that does not let a site find out what operating system you are using especialy on secure sites. So if you do have a firewall try closing it or disable it then go on the site
Firewall might be his problem , but I think though that when he installed IE6. It might have locked him into encrypted mode...look in the start menu...under startup...see if there is something that says encryption....and you might also check...under the auto cookie handler options...
